The design places the new bedroom and bathroom above the open-plan living room, leading to private courtyards at both ends of the house. The building transforms the previously dark and introverted space into a large-scale space with plenty of natural light and spaciousness. The exquisite steel staircase is located in the center of the building and introduces natural light into the building through a large skylight. A white mosaic wall surrounds the back wall of the courtyard, reflecting the north light into the garden and rear kitchen.
